Marking time, marking essays, and brewing a post about work-life balance, but it’s taking a while to pull it together. I planned to start it this morning, but there was sad news on my friend merc’s blog.
I have spent a bit of time mourning in these last few months, first for my lovely aunty, then for my uncle who died a few weeks ago. It was hard to grieve overly much for my uncle, because he had been stolen by Alzheimers, so most of the grieving had already been done. But I remembered the kindly man who had welcomed me into his home in school holidays – we used to go and stay there for a week or so in springtime, running wild over the farm with our cousin. It was a sad death.
So today, in the lovely spring sunshine, I am thinking of these deaths, and particularly of merc and his beloved partner, friends I have never met.
(I’ve turned comments off on this post.)
